William Cosnowski Jr. is the lead in-house attorney for technology and intellectual property litigation at Delphi Automotive Systems, LLC. He focuses on the worldwide defense of intellectual property and warranty claims asserted against Delphi and its customers. In the past eight years, Mr. Cosnowski has successfully led the company's efforts to defeat contingent liability claims exceeding $600 million. In support of Delphi's on-going business operations, he serves as divisional counsel for Delphi's Electronic and Safety Division, where he directs the division's day-to-day legal affairs covering a wide range of commercial, transactional, and litigation matters. He also directs the company's technology licensing and litigation initiative focused on generating value from Delphi's worldwide patent portfolio of over 5000 patents. Recently, Crain's Detroit Business Magazine recognized him as one of southeastern Michigan's upcoming business leaders as a member of its "40 Under 40 Class of 2009." Mr. Cosnowski serves as a council member of the Information Technology Law Section of the State Bar of Michigan. Prior to working for Delphi, he worked for Rader, Fishman, and Grauer PLLC, focusing on intellectual property matters. With prior education in industrial, operations, and environmental engineering, Mr. Cosnowski earned his law degree from the University of Michigan.
