Robert S. Ditillo has more than 35 years of experience in the field of labor relations in both private and federal sectors. Since his appointment as a commissioner with the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service (FMCS) in 1994, Mr. Ditillo has successfully mediated labor disputes in many different industries, including steel, health care, construction trades, communications, food, transportation, law enforcement, hotel and restaurants, and utilities. His experience also includes the use of ADR in the federal sector and in private-sector employment cases. Mr. Ditillo is the current regional director of the Pittsburgh region and supervises mediators in seven field stations servicing areas of Pennsylvania, New York, and Michigan. Prior to joining FMCS, he was employed in the private sector for 12 years by Union Carbide Corporation, RJR Nabisco Brands, and Kraft General Foods-Philip Morris Companies, holding positions in labor relations and human resources management.
