George W. Jordan, III

George W. Jordan III is a past chair of the 15,000-member American Bar Association’s IP Section and a senior counsel at his firm. He has 25 years of experience in patent disputes and IP transactions in areas such as wireless, e-commerce, software, semiconductors, automotive, energy, and aerospace. His dispute practice, including over 80 patent cases, has involved leading joint defense groups, multi-patent prior art investigations, discovery efforts, and document reviews—including training of document review lawyers. His transactional practice has involved evaluating assets for licensing or acquisition, conducting audits, and drafting agreements. For both practice areas, Mr. Jordan draws on his experience drafting over 60 patents in the electrical arts. In addition to being a frequent seminar speaker and author for the Texas State Bar, Houston Intellectual Property Law Association, and ABA, he is an adjunct professor at Texas Southern University’s Thurgood Marshall School of Law, where he teaches a seminar on the attorney-client privilege and work product doctrine with an emphasis on patent cases.
