Principal of the firm, John A. Scott concentrates his practice on the areas of estate planning and administration, probate litigation, elder law, and real estate matters. He is licensed to practice law in the states of Michigan and Colorado. Mr. Scott served from 1990 to 2002 on the council of the Probate and Estate Planning Section of the State Bar of Michigan and was the chairperson of the council for the year 2001-2002. He continues his service as an ex officio officer of the council. Mr. Scott has been a frequent contributor to ICLE's Annual Drafting Estate Planning Documents seminars and the Annual Probate and Estate Planning Institutes. He is a fellow and past state chairperson of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel. Mr. Scott is also a recipient of the Michael Irish Award and a member of the George A. Cooney Society, both in recognition of his service to trust and estate planning attorneys.
