Hon. Kathleen A. Ryan

Hon. Kathleen A. Ryan is chief judge pro tem of the Oakland County Probate Court, to which she was elected in 2010. Before that, she focused her private practice on family and probate litigation and was managing partner at Ryan & Schouman, PLC. Judge Ryan is admitted to the U.S. Supreme Court and the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Michigan. She is a member of the Oakland County Bar Association (OCBA) and the Michigan Probate Judges Association (MPJA) and serves as the president of the MPJA's Southeastern Regional Association. Judge Ryan is also a fellow of the Michigan Bar Foundation and a member of the Incorporated Society of Irish Lawyers, the Michigan Irish American Chamber of Commerce, the Women Officials Network, the Women Lawyers Association of Michigan, and the OCBA American Inn of Court. She has co-chaired the SAVE Task Force since 2013, was the 2013 and 2015 probate chairperson of the OCBA Bench Bar Conference, and served on the 2013 Angel's Place advisory board.
