Hon. Carrie Lynn Fuca

41B District Court
Clinton Twp, Michigan

Hon. Carrie L. Fuca was elected to the court in 2010 and is currently serving her second term. She was designated chief judge in 2016 and served in that capacity through 2020. As chief, she initiated several successful programs at her court including job fairs, a bond pilot program, and online resolution of traffic tickets. Judge Fuca and the staff completed a strategic plan at the end of 2020, much of which has been implemented as a result of the pandemic and the inability to attend court in person. Judge Fuca founded the Veterans Treatment Court in 2012 and is the presiding judge over that docket. The Veterans Treatment Court is the only district court in Macomb County that exclusively serves veterans. In January of 2020, Judge Fuca also started a Drug Treatment Court, which previously had been a hybrid court for participants with drug and alcohol addictions. She and her teams have conducted statewide trainings for other treatment court professionals. Judge Fuca currently sits as an executive board member (treasurer) for Michigan Association of Treatment Court Professionals and is cochair of the Michigan District Court Judge’s Legislative Committee. She was recently appointed by Governor Whitmer to serve on the Jail Reform Advisory Council as the district court judge representative.
