Martha A. Murphy is vice president of associate and labor relations for CHE Trinity Health - one of the largest multi-institutional Catholic health care delivery systems in the nation - formed in May 2013 with the consolidation of Trinity Health and Catholic Health East. Additionally, Ms. Murphy oversees a staff of project and vendor management team members and coordinates the HR projects that have been identified to leverage the size and scale of the new organization. She has over 20 years of experience in human resources in the health care and insurance fields, with much of her background relating to Total Rewards, HRIS, and, more recently, employee and labor relations. Previously, Ms. Murphy spent 10 years at St. Joseph Mercy Oakland Hospital in Pontiac, first as director of compensation and benefits and then as the vice president and chief human resources officer. She also worked in human resources at the Detroit Medical Center and United Care (now Oakwood) and in strategic and product planning and development and assistant general council/corporate secretary roles for AAA Michigan (now the Auto Club Group). She earned both her bachelor of public administration degree and juris doctor from Wayne State University.
