Erin Morrae Magley has served as referee for the 20th Circuit Court in Ottawa County for 20 years. Prior to her appointment as a domestic relations referee in 2001, she practiced in litigation at the Grand Rapids office of Warner Norcross + Judd and the Boston office of boutique complex litigation firm Zelle and Larson. She is also a trained mediator in Massachusetts and in Michigan, is trained in collaborative law, and regularly mediates as a volunteer at the Dispute Resolution Center in Grand Rapids. Ms. Magley previously served as president of the Ottawa County Bar Association, on the Board of the Referee’s Association of Michigan, and on various committees and work groups. She is currently serving as a member of the SCAO Domestic Forms Committee and assistant editor of “Referees’ Quarterly,” as well as secretary of the board of directors for Wedgwood, a nonprofit organization in Grand Rapids. Ms. Magley earned her bachelor’s degree from Wittenberg University and her JD from Harvard Law School.
