Shenique A. Moss currently serves as deputy legal counsel for Governor Whitmer, providing advice to the Executive Office of the Governor on a broad range of issues. Prior to this role, she served as assistant commission counsel for the Wayne County Commission for more than two years and an assistant attorney general at the Michigan Department of Attorney General for more than eight years. Ms. Moss is a former chair of the State Bar of Michigan Young Lawyers Section, former member of the SBM Diversity and Inclusion Advisory Committee, and former member of the District E Character and Fitness Committee. She is also involved in the American Bar Association (ABA), where she serves as chair-elect of the Lawyers Conference of the Judicial Division, member for the Fund for Justice and Education Council, and member for the Council for Diversity in the Educational Pipeline. She is the immediate past ABA Young Lawyers Division (ABA YLD) representative to the ABA Nominating Committee, a former speaker for the ABA YLD, a former House of Delegates Young Lawyer Representative for Michigan, and was chair of the ABA YLD Fall 2016 Conference (Detroit). Locally, she served as the 2012-2013 president of the Ingham County Bar Association Young Lawyers Section and is a board member of the Ingham County Bar Foundation and the Michigan Supreme Court Historical Society.
