Nicole Shannon is the systemic advocacy attorney at the initiative. She focuses on systemic issues facing older clients and individuals with disabilities, such as guardianship, long-term care, and public benefits. She also regularly presents to national audiences regarding legal issues facing older adults and adults with disabilities. Previously, Ms. Shannon was the supervising attorney and a staff attorney at the Legal Services of South Central Michigan in Lansing. She was also a staff attorney with Michigan Protection and Advocacy Service, where she served adult clients with disabilities in civil rights matters. Ms. Shannon received a BA from James Madison College at Michigan State University and a JD from the University of Michigan Law School, where she served as a note editor on "Michigan Law Review."
