Sarah Lee Simmons provides legal counsel on employment and employee relations matters to the company’s North American entities. She also supervises and manages employment-related litigation and responds to administrative charges, complaints, attorney's letters, settlement demands and claims for the region, and ensures compliance with all state and federal employment and labor laws. Ms. Simmons has worked with the company since April 2019 and has been a lawyer for more than 10 years. Prior to joining the company, she was a lawyer at Littler Mendelson for more than three years. She also practiced labor and employment law and general business law at Abbott Nicolson, a mid-sized general practice law firm in Detroit. In addition, Ms. Simmons worked as a law clerk for International Automotive Components and the Hon. Marilyn J. Kelly at the Michigan Supreme Court. Before her law career, she held various roles in operations with Lear Corporation. Ms. Simmons earned a BS in horticulture from Michigan State University and a JD from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law.
