Parental Indemnity Agreements

The Michigan Court of Appeals recently held parental indemnification agreements unenforceable as a matter of public policy. This new Legal Update summarizes the decision, which reaffirms the common-law principle that parents may not contractually bind their children and highlights the need for careful review of indemnification clauses in contracts involving minors.
