Lori A. Buiteweg, a shareholder at the firm, was president of the State Bar of Michigan from 2015-2016, having served on its board of commissioners for 12 years. Ms. Buiteweg also served as chair of the SBM Representative Assembly (2005-2006) and was president of the Washtenaw County Bar Association (2000-2001). She is a founding member of the Eastern Michigan University Legal Resource Center and received its 2015 Outstanding Service Award. She also received the 2012 Citizen of the Year Award from the Michigan Council for Social Studies and 2013 Patriot Award from the WCBA for her organization and implementation of a successful Constitution Day program in Ann Arbor public schools. Ms. Buiteweg was identified by "Michigan Lawyers Weekly" as a 2017 Leader in the Law.
