Hon. Charles S. Hegarty was appointed to the Third Circuit Court, Wayne County, in 2013 and serves in the Civil Division. He joined the court from Bodman, PLC, where he litigated and tried business disputes and represented clients in contract, construction, real estate, tort, and trusts and estates matters. Judge Hegarty is a fellow of the Michigan State Bar Foundation and a member of the State Bar of Michigan, the Detroit Metropolitan Bar Association, and the Wayne County Family Law Bar Association. He was recognized as a Michigan Super Lawyer in business litigation, was AV® Peer-Review Rated by Martindale-Hubbell, and served on the Board of Commissioners of the State Bar of Michigan.
