Thomas H. Howlett

Bloomfield Hills, Michigan


Thomas H. Howlett has practiced law in Washington, DC, in Michigan, and in state and federal courts across the country for 30 years. His practice focuses on plaintiff-side malpractice, catastrophic injury, and civil rights matters. He currently serves on the State Bar of Michigan Board of Commissioners, and he is a former president of the Oakland County Bar Association. Before law school, he was a reporter for the "Dallas Morning News" and the "Los Angeles Times." From 1990 to 1991, Mr. Howlett served as a judicial law clerk to Hon. Douglas W. Hillman, then chief judge of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Michigan. From 1995 to 1997, he and his family lived in the Republic of Palau in the western Pacific Ocean, where he served as assistant attorney general and counsel to the president of that new island nation. In 1998, Mr. Howlett moved back to Michigan and joined The Googasian Firm, PC.
