As chief assistant city attorney for the city of Livonia, Michael E. Fisher was co-lead counsel for the three dozen or so municipalities who were defendants in "Bull Transport et al v Wayne County," a class action brought by the trucking industry to thwart municipal enforcement of truck weight limits. He also appeared on Livonia's behalf in "Lott v City of Birmingham," an American Civil Liberties Union challenge to local ordinances that resulted in Wayne County Circuit Court striking down the Michigan Medical Marihuana Act as unconstitutional on the ground that it is preempted by federal law. He has written and spoken on a range of topics, including fair housing, billboard, and liquor law.
