New Proposed Rule for Joint Employer Liability
New Legal Update
The U.S. Department of Labor's Wage and Hour Division recently released a proposed rule for determining joint employer liability under the Fair Labor Standards Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act, and the Migrant and Seasonal Agricultural Worker Protection Act. This detailed Legal Update provides the highlights of the proposed rule and outlines the next steps to prepare for if the rule is finalized.
MCR 8.115 Amended to Address ICE Arrests

Amendments to MCR 8.115 went into effect on May 1 following advocacy calling for Michigan courts to adopt a clear policy in response to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) arrests at or near courthouses.
