Scott J. Steiner practices in the areas of agriculture industry services, environmental and natural resources law, and real estate law. He is a past president of the Grand Rapids Bar Association Environmental Law Section and also a member of its Real Property Section, a past chair of the State Bar of Michigan (SBM) Water Law Committee and Environmental Litigation and Administrative Practice Committee, a past chair of the SBM Environmental Law Section, and a member of the SBM Real Property Law Section. Mr. Steiner has served on the American Bar Association Section of Environment, Energy, and Resources Water Quality and Wetlands Committee, Environmental Transactions and Brownfields Committee, and Mining and Mineral Extraction Committee and the Michigan Manufacturers Association Mining Policy Committee and Environmental Policy Committee. He is a member of the Rocky Mountain Mineral Law Foundation and the West Michigan Sustainable Business Forum and was a mayoral appointee on the City of Grand Rapids Sustainable Streets Task Force. Mr Steiner was named a 2022 Lawyer of the Year for Grand Rapids Environmental Law by Best Lawyers, a Legal Leader in Land Use and Zoning by "The American Lawyer" magazine, Lawyer of the Year for Litigation--Environmental by Best Lawyers in America, and Top Lawyer in Environmental Law by "Grand Rapids Magazine." He has the highest AV Preeminent Rating by Martindale Hubbell.
