Valerie A. Kutz-Otway focuses her practice in the areas of probate litigation and estate planning, with a special emphasis on assisting persons with disabilities or mental illness. She is also the inclusion and lawyer development director for the firm. She is a member of the Probate and Estate Planning, Elder Law and Disability Rights, and Military and Veterans' Law sections of the State Bar of Michigan. She formerly served on the board of directors for the Saginaw County Bar Association and is the chair of their Pro Bono Committee. In addition, Ms. Kutz-Otway serves on the board of directors for HIS Restoration Ministries, an organization that provides shelter and counseling for homeless expectant mothers. In 2019 and 2020, Ms. Kutz-Otway was selected as a Rising Star by Super Lawyers. She frequently lectures on the topics of guardianships and conservatorships and has set precedent with published cases in both the Michigan Supreme Court and the Michigan Court of Appeals. Ms. Kutz-Otway is licensed to practice in the state of Michigan, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan, the U.S. Bankruptcy Court, and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.
