Ellen Hoeppner is a senior associate general counsel at Beaumont Health, where she is the lead attorney for matters related to employment law, labor, and employee benefits, including wage and hour, executive compensation, workplace accommodations, leaves of absence, Equal Employment Opportunity compliance, restructuring and reductions in force, COVID-19, and other workplace issues. In her role, Ms. Hoeppner regularly conducts training for leaders and human resources personnel on hot topics and emerging issues in employment law. She also oversees and supports sensitive and complex investigations arising from employee complaints of discrimination, harassment, and workplace bullying. Before moving in-house, Ms. Hoeppner was a partner at an Am Law 200 law firm in Detroit, where she practiced in the area of employment defense. Active in the legal community, she is a past president of the Women Lawyers Association of Michigan (WLAM), Wayne Region, and is an active member of the State Bar of Michigan Labor and Employment Law Section. In recognition of her dedication to professional excellence and service, Ms. Hoeppner was named as an Up and Coming Lawyer by "Michigan Lawyers Weekly" and received the Regional Leadership Award from WLAM.
