Beyond Lemon Law: Consumer Auto Transactions
On-Demand Seminar (Posted 01/17/17) | CLE: 0.75 | MCJE: 0.75
Available in the Partnership

Michigan's "lemon law" has been around since 1986. However consumer claims regarding automotive purchases and leases may require moving beyond that statute. Handling a plaintiff's case in this area of law requires an understanding of the relationships of the three major players in these disputes: the consumer, the dealer, and the manufacturer.

  • Advise your client on available remedies including repairs or temporary transportation
  • Facilitate a proper vehicle inspection and preserve attorney fee claims
  • Evaluate how the dealer-manufacturer relationship may impact your case
  • Analyze the repair history to determine manufacture liability
