Hon. Maureen H. Kinsella was appointed to the Circuit Court on April 27, 2022, by Governor Gretchen Whitmer. Prior to her appointment to the Oakland County bench, Judge Kinsella spent nearly 20 years at Miller & Tischler, PC in Farmington Hills in litigation practice and served as the firm’s vice president and a member of the firm’s Management Committee. As a litigator, Judge Kinsella represented medical service providers and catastrophically injured persons and their families in no-fault insurance matters. She also served as a discovery mediator for Oakland County Bar Association, and a case evaluator for the Oakland County Case Evaluation Tribunal. She was a member of the OCBA Circuit Court Committee and Alternative Dispute Resolution Committee. Prior to her appointment, Judge Kinsella was a member of the American Association of Justice and the Michigan Association of Justice, most recently having been an Executive Committee Member of the Michigan Association of Justice. She also served for more than four years as an elected Board Member on the Michigan Brain Injury Provider Council, most recently having served a term on its Executive Committee. She is a frequent lecturer for organizations that focus on updates in the law and skill development for litigators.
