Gregory K. Need

Bloomfield Hills, Michigan


Gregory K. Need practices in the areas of municipal law, zoning and land use, real estate, and estate planning. A member of the Oakland County Bar Association's municipal law committee, he has served three times as the committee's chair. He has authored several articles and lectured extensively on zoning and land use matters for such organizations as the Michigan Society of Planning, the Michigan Townships Association, the Citizen Planner program, and ICLE. He currently serves as city attorney for Pleasant Ridge and lead counsel for Springfield Township in Oakland County, and has served as special counsel for several other communities, including the cities of Northville, Rochester Hills, Troy, and Ferndale. Mr. Need has served on the Clarkston Community Schools Board of Education since 2015, currently as its vice president. He has been designated from 2008 to the present as a Michigan Super Lawyer in the areas of land use, zoning, and municipal law and has taught zoning and land use law as an adjunct professor at Cooley Law School.
