Nelson P. Miller

GRAND HAVEN, Michigan


Nelson P. Miller is an associate dean and professor at the school, teaching classes in civil procedure, torts, no-fault insurance law, health law, tax-exempt organizations, and professional responsibility. Before joining WMU-Cooley in 2004, he practiced civil litigation with the law firm of Fajen and Miller in Michigan's state and federal trial and appellate courts. Mr. Miller is a member of the American Bar Association and the State Bar of Michigan and was received the State Bar's 2005 John W. Cummiskey Award for pro bono service. He has served on the State Bar's Representative Assembly, Criminal Issues Initiative, Equal Access Initiative, Publications and Websites Advisory Committee, and the Law-Related Education Committee. Mr. Miller has published 51 books and dozens of articles on civil practice in the "Michigan Bar Journal" and elsewhere, and he was included in the 2013 Harvard University Press book "What the Best Law Teachers Do."
