Christopher A. Ballard focuses his practice on estate planning, trust administration, nonprofit organizations, taxation, and business planning. He is a former chair of the Probate and Estate Planning Section of the State Bar of Michigan and is a fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel. Mr. Ballard served on the Michigan Trust Code Committee and the Assisted Reproductive Technology Committee. He previously chaired the section's Committee on Special Projects and the Legislative and Drafting Committee. Mr. Ballard has been listed in "The Best Lawyers in America" in the areas of estate planning and nonprofit and charities law since 2008. He previously served on the IRS Great Lakes Area Tax Exempt/Governmental Entities Council and currently serves on the board of directors for FIRST (Michigan) and Michigan Flyers. In addition to his legal work, Mr. Ballard is the commander of the Michigan Wing of the Civil Air Patrol, the civilian auxiliary of the U.S. Air Force.
