Christopher P. Desmond is the chief appellate attorney at the firm and works out of its Detroit office. He represents plaintiffs in personal injury and medical malpractice actions, particularly cases involving governmental immunity and federal civil rights violations. Before his work at the firm, Mr. Desmond worked for five years at the Michigan Court of Appeals, where he served as a prehearing attorney before becoming the law clerk for the Hon. Cynthia Stephens. He currently serves as an executive board member for the Michigan Association for Justice (MAJ) and as cochair of its governmental immunity committee. As a part of the MAJ, Mr. Desmond has presented at numerous seminars and written articles for its journal. In addition, he has written several amicus briefs in cases involving governmental immunity on behalf of the Negligence Law Section of the State Bar of Michigan.
