V. James Adduci II, managing partner of the firm, practices in the areas of Section 337 investigations, international trade regulation, customs law, intellectual property litigation and enforcement, and appellate law. He has participated in over 50 Section 337 investigations at the U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC); counseled and represented clients on licensing and trade policy issues; conducted intellectual property litigation in the federal courts; and advised clients concerning international commercial transactions and joint ventures. From 1975 to 1979, Mr. Adduci served as legal counsel with the ITC. During that time, he dealt with all matters within the commission's jurisdiction, including unfair competition cases under 19 USC §1337, antidumping and countervailing duty actions, and escape clause proceedings. In 1977, Mr. Adduci was appointed by the U.S. Trade Representative as a member of the U.S. delegation to the Multilateral Trade Negotiations (Tokyo Round) in Geneva, where he was principally involved in negotiations concerning import safeguards. In 1979, he left government service to establish the firm. Mr. Adduci is ranked as one of America's leading business lawyers in "Chambers USA," is the featured speaker on Sky Radio's "America's Best Lawyers," and is named among the top lawyers in Washington, DC, according to "Washingtonian Magazine." He has lectured and published articles on various international trade issues, including international finance and investment and intellectual property protection.
