Hon. Antonio P. Viviano has been a Macomb County circuit judge since January, 2003, handling domestic and juvenile cases in the Family Division of the 16th Circuit Court. He served as chief judge of the court from 2005 to 2007. Prior to that, Judge Viviano served as a Macomb County probate judge from 1993 to 2002, handling domestic and juvenile cases, involuntary commitment cases, and neglect, abuse, delinquency, and adoption cases. Before taking the bench, he engaged in the general practice of law for 18 years in the tri-county area. Judge Viviano is a member of the State Bar of Michigan, Macomb County Bar Association, Michigan Association for Justice, Italian-American Lawyers Association, Michigan Probate Judges Association, and National Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges. He also serves on the board of directors for Children's Charter of the Courts of Michigan, Inc.; as director of the S.M.I.L.E. (Start Making It Livable for Everyone) Program of Macomb County Circuit Court, a two-hour educational program for separating or divorcing parents; the Macomb County Community Corrections Advisory Board; and the Michigan Task Force on Youth Gang Violence.
