Richard W. Wooten received his doctorate from Wayne State University and worked as a forensic psychologist with the 3rd Circuit Court for many years before moving into private practice. His clinical setting has focused entirely on testing and assessment issues that involve the courts, and he has consulted on psychological matters around the United States. His professional experience includes the utilization/interpretation of psychological testing/assessment, as well as consultation with a wide cross-section of professionals. Dr. Wooten serves as an expert in complex psychological testing and assessment issues, and has presented numerous times on psychological matters relevant to the courts. He recently served on the committee to revise the Michigan Parenting Time Guideline, with a focus on developmental issues, domestic violence, and the importance of parent-child contact for caregivers who are incarcerated. His forensic practice has concentrated on the use of current literature to inform the courts, while evaluations in multidisciplinary settings ensure proficiency in current behavioral topics. Dr. Wooten has conducted more than 3,000 evaluations, assessments, and other written documents to guide lawyers and the courts while providing long-term solutions for their respective audiences.
