Tulika Bhattacharya has 17 years of regulatory experience with the department and is manager of the Certificate of Need (CON) Evaluation Section. The section is responsible for evaluating all CON applications in accordance with the Public Health Code, administrative rules, and 15 different CON review standards. The section also makes recommendations to the director of the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) to approve or disapprove CON applications. The section also has regulatory oversight for monitoring compliance for all CON-approved facilities with CON standards’ requirements. Ms. Bhattacharya earned her BS in mathematics and advanced diploma in software technology and systems management in Calcutta, India.
