Theodore (Ted) U. Ro is retired chief counsel for NASA’s Johnson Space Center (JSC) where he worked in NASA’s Office of the General Counsel (OGC). He came to JSC over 35 years ago as an engineering intern and spent about half his career working in technical organizations, including the Mission Operations Directorate, International Space Station Program Office, and the Technology Transfer Office. After graduating with a law degree in 1994 from the University of Houston, Mr. Ro eventually became an intellectual property lawyer at JSC before being named JSC’s chief counsel in 2019, where he served as a member of OGC’s legal leadership team, JSC’s senior staff, and as an adviser to JSC leadership as well as managing the OGC-JSC Legal Office. He graduated from Texas A&M University with a BS in aerospace engineering (1988) and the University of Houston with a master’s degree in industrial engineering (1991).
