Allura J. Stewart assists in overseeing the health system’s Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, as well as social justice initiatives and strategies. Ms. Stewart is responsible for aligning Henry Ford Health’s commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion across 250+ locations throughout Michigan, including five acute care hospitals, two destination facilities for complex cancer and orthopedics and sports medicine care, three behavioral health facilities, primary care, and urgent care centers. She manages and evaluates various committees and groups, including the Henry Ford Health Diversity Council, Diversity Committees, Employee Resource Groups, and other strategic DEI programs. Ms. Stewart also has expertise in crafting DEI initiatives that serve as internal working documents for municipalities to achieve their racial equity organizational goals, from gathering and assessing data collected from government records, staff, and community members to establishing timelines, accountability, and performance measures. She has worked with more than 50 local, state, and federal agencies to shape public policy. Ms. Stewart assisted in the development and implementation of New York’s current supplier diversity program, which is designed to boost the state’s economy and create inclusion and diversity in the contracting process. Ms. Stewart also developed strategic plans and implemented DEI initiatives for the cities of St. Louis and Columbus; the Louisville/Kentucky Metropolitan Sewer District; and Jacksonville Transportation Authority. Ms. Stewart is a member of the California State Bar, National Association of Women Lawyers, National Diversity Council, and American Association of Access, Equity, and Diversity.
