Michael O. Nelson is an attorney in private practice in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Mr. Nelson worked with Legal Aid of Western Michigan from 1973 to 1996 where he served as staff attorney, litigation director, deputy director and acting director. In addition to representing low income persons in a variety of civil litigation, Mr. Nelson brought a number of class action impact lawsuits in state and federal court. He is currently in private practice concentrating in consumer law, including individual and class actions under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and other laws affecting consumers. He is a member of the National Association of Consumer Advocates, and a past chair of the Consumer Section of the State Bar of Michigan.
