Dennis M. Mitzel practices in the areas of estate planning, taxation, charitable planning, asset protection, and estate and trust administration. He has also worked in the Estate and Gift Tax Division of the Internal Revenue Service and for Comerica Bank, where he headed the Estate Tax Division of the Trust Tax Department. A member of the Probate and Estate Planning and Taxation Sections of the State Bar of Michigan, Mr. Mitzel has served as chairperson of the Taxation Section and its Estate and Trust Committee. He is a fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel, a director and past chairperson of the Planned Giving Roundtable, a member of the Christian Legal Society, and a member of the Detroit Metropolitan Bar Association (DMBA), where he is a former chairperson of the Taxation Section. A frequent lecturer for ICLE, Mr. Mitzel has given presentations on estate and gift taxation topics at Wayne State University Graduate School, DMBA, the Michigan Association of CPAs, the National Business Institute, and the Planned Giving Roundtable.
