David L. Shaltz is of counsel to the firm. He practices in the areas of elder law and administrative law. Mr. Shaltz is a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys and the State Bar of Michigan's (SBM's) Elder Law and Disability Rights, Administrative and Regulatory Law, and Probate and Estate Planning Sections. He is a former chapter author of ICLE's "Michigan Guardianship and Conservatorship Handbook" and a former chapter author and editor of ICLE's "Advising the Older or Disabled Client." Mr. Shaltz has been recognized as a Michigan Super Lawyer by "Super Lawyers Magazine" from 2015 to 2023 and as a Leading Lawyer from 2016 to 2023. In 2016 the SBM's Elder Law and Disability Rights Section honored him with its first Volunteer and Pro Bono Service Award. Mr. Shaltz is a past recipient of the Michigan Campaign for Quality Care Nadene Mitcham Courage and Heart Award and Elder Law of Michigan's Joe D. Sutton Call to Justice Award. He is a frequent trainer on elder law topics for community groups, professional organizations, and nonprofit organizations.
