Afaf Vicky Farah is a lifelong Michigan resident who has been practicing U.S. immigration and nationality law for more than 25 years. She attended the American University of Beirut in Beirut, Lebanon, from 1971 to 1972 and graduated from the University of Michigan in 1973 and Wayne State University Law School in 1980. Prior to pursuing her law degree, Ms. Farah worked as a high school history teacher for two years and later, as an immigration caseworker at the International Institute, a nonprofit agency providing educational, immigration, and social services to immigrants. In 1981 she established a law practice in Ann Arbor. Ms. Farah has been a member of the Michigan chapter of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) since 1981. She served as chapter secretary from 1993 to 1995 and currently serves on the AILA Citizenship and Immigration Services Liaison Committee. Ms. Farah has presented lectures and workshops on various aspects of immigration and nationality law to legal, student, and client groups on a regular basis since 1982.
