Douglas S. Ellmann practices in the area of bankruptcy law. Mr. Ellmann has served on the Representative Assembly of the State Bar of Michigan from 1983 to1989, again from 1991 to 1992, and from 1998 to the present. He has also served on the Young Lawyers Section Executive Council for the State Bar, on the Young Lawyers Division Assembly of the American Bar Association, and on the Client Protection Fund (1989-1995). Mr. Ellmann was chair of the State Bar's ad hoc Committee on Mandatory Continuing Legal Education and vice chair of the American Bar Association's Bankruptcy Committee, General Practice Section. In 1989, the U.S. Department of Justice appointed him as a U.S. Panel Trustee in the Eastern District of Michigan. Mr. Ellmann's biography has appeared in the "Best Lawyers in America" for 25 years, in Michigan Super Lawyers since it was first published, and in Leading Lawyers of Michigan. He is rated AV Preeminent by Martindale Hubbell.
