William J. Vailliencourt, Jr.

William J. Vailliencourt, Jr. is an assistant U.S. attorney for the U.S. Attorney's Office in the Eastern District of Michigan. Mr. Vailliencourt served as the prosecuting attorney for Livingston County from 2013 through 2020. A prosecutor for more than 25 years, he is experienced in all phases of felony and misdemeanor prosecutions, from investigation through trial and appeal. Mr. Vailliencourt has argued numerous cases before the Michigan Court of Appeals and the Michigan Supreme Court. He was the 2019-2020 president of the Prosecuting Attorneys Association of Michigan (PAAM) and served on PAAM's Legislative Committee, Amicus and Court Rules Committee, and Best Practices Committee. A frequent lecturer for PAAM on trial advocacy, evidence, search and seizure, and various other legal issues, Mr. Vailliencourt is a recipient of the organization's Boyle Appellate Advocacy Award. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan and graduated with honors from the Washington and Lee University School of Law in Virginia.
