W. Ann Warner practices in the area of civil rights enforcement and litigation. She was also an adjunct professor of law at the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law for five years, where she taught civil rights litigation. Ms. Warner is a member of the State Bar of Michigan and a former member of the Ferndale Police and Fire Board and the Ferndale Arts and Cultural Commission. She is a former member of the Constitutional Law and Civil Liberties committees of the State Bar of Michigan. Ms. Warner is a neutral case evaluator for the Wayne County Mediation Tribunal and a community mediator for the Oakland County Mediation Center. She is active in many local government campaigns and served as legal advisor to the Blue Ribbon Committee that drafted the Ferndale Human Rights Ordinance and to the committee that drafted the proposed Royal Oak Human Rights Ordinance. She writes a quarterly column for "Lawnotes," the publication of the State Bar of Michigan Labor and Employment Law Section, and teaches and presents on civil rights and employment law issues to various businesses and organizations throughout Michigan. Ms. Warner was elected to the Ferndale Library Board in 2005 and regularly serves as a judge for the Michigan High School Mock Trial Tournament, sponsored by the Michigan Center for Civic Education, and for the Ernie Goodman Civil Rights Mock Trial Tournament at the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law. She is a coauthor of "Annual Survey of Michigan Civil Rights Law," which will be published in the Survey Edition of the Wayne State Law Review in 2006.
