Susan Hartmus Hiser is a principal with the firm, serving as a neutral workplace investigator, mediator, and Title IX hearing officer. Ms. Hiser has more than 30 years of experience as an attorney practicing in the areas of employment litigation defense, employer counseling, and workplace investigations. She is a member of the State Bar of Michigan’s Labor and Employment Law and ADR Sections. Ms. Hiser served on the governing council of the Labor and Employment Law Section from 2009-2018 and as its chair from 2016-2017. She is also a member of the American Bar Association Labor & Employment Law Section’s Employment Rights and Responsibilities Committee and has served as a program cochair, administrative cochair, Workplace Investigations Subcommittee cochair, and ERR Gives Back Community Service Initiative cochair. Ms. Hiser is a fellow of the College of Labor and Employment Lawyers and the Michigan State Bar Foundation. She has been a featured speaker on a variety of employment law topics for the Labor and Employment Law Sections of the American Bar Association and the State Bar of Michigan, with a concentration on workplace investigations.
