Robert D. Heitmeyer has almost 28 years of experience as an attorney with the Office of Chief Counsel, Internal Revenue Service (IRS), including his time as a special assistant U.S. attorney in the Eastern District of Michigan. His undergraduate degree is in accounting. He earned his law degree from Cooley Law School and an LLM degree in taxation from Wayne State University. He's been a proud adjunct professor at Cooley Law School since 2006. As a supervisor of a tax litigation group in the Detroit office, he provides tax advice to revenue agents, revenue officers, special agents, and the various support components within the IRS.
