Hon. David J. Allen has served in the criminal and civil division of the court since his appointment to the office by Governor Jennifer Granholm in December 2003. He is also an adjunct professor of law at Cooley Law School. Judge Allen practiced law for 10 years prior to taking the bench, most recently with Allen Brothers PLLC, which he formed with two of his brothers. Judge Allen has presided over thousands of cases during his tenure and has served on various committees. Judge Allen obtained degrees from the University of Michigan before graduating first in his class from the Detroit College of Law in 1993.
