Kimberly M. Cope is the chief compliance and quality officer for the agency, a nonprofit organization that supports older adults and adults with disabilities in southeast Michigan to access services and programs needed to remain living independently and with dignity in the community. AAA 1-B is part of a national network of Area Agencies on Aging. Additionally, it is a prepaid ambulatory health plan that administers the Medicaid MI Choice waiver. Prior to joining AAA 1-B, Ms. Cope served as the compliance officer for an organization that administers the Medicaid benefit for individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities, serious mental illness, and/or substance use disorder, as well as community safety net services. She holds a JD from Wayne State University and is a member of the State Bar of Michigan. She also holds a certification through the Healthcare Compliance Certification Board.
