Martin C. Brook focuses his practice on representation of employers before state and federal courts and administrative agencies and advising employers on litigation avoidance, union avoidance, and positive employee relations. He began his career as a human resources (HR) professional, and as an attorney he has held various in-house and law firm positions. Mr. Brook has developed business-minded solutions for complex employment challenges with the aim of risk management and litigation avoidance. He has developed, implemented, and managed various labor relations and HR programs. These include voluntary and involuntary reduction-in-force programs; employment-related due diligence; contract negotiations and grievance administration; responses to multiple union organizing campaigns; internal wage and hour audits; user and provider coemployment and independent contractor issues; matters involving the Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs and audit responses; inbound and outbound restrictive covenant matters; payroll and garnishment compliance programs; and employment policies, procedures, and training programs.
