Tammy M. Kudialis is the director of Project SALUTE, a regional and national traveling veterans' law clinic designed by the University of Detroit Mercy (UDM) School of Law to assist indigent veterans with their federal benefits claims. The clinic provides law students with practical legal training and pro bono attorneys with the opportunity to serve those who have served in the military. To date, Project SALUTE has counseled over 3,000 veterans and has a pro bono panel of more than 1,000 attorneys. In addition to her duties as clinic director, Professor Kudialis teaches UDM's Veterans Appellate Clinic, which focuses on representing veterans before the U.S. Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims (CAVC). As part of her LL.M. degree, she studied veterans' law with Hon. Robert N. Davis of the CAVC. Admitted to practice before the CAVC, Ms. Kudialis is a member of the CAVC Bar Association and a member of the National Organization of Veterans Advocates, Inc. Prior to becoming Project SALUTE director, Professor Kudialis was adjunct faculty in UDM's Urban Law Clinic, where she provided numerous educational training sessions for senior citizens and was a frequent lecturer on elder law issues. She practiced elder law before joining UDM.
