Laurence H. Margolis has been practicing law since 1996, with particular proficiency in postconviction cases and criminal immigration and deportation defense. Though he devotes the majority of his practice to criminal defense, he also handles civil litigation, representing plaintiffs and small businesses. After graduating from Emory University School of Law in 1996, Mr. Margolis joined a boutique litigation firm, Smith, White, Sharma, and Halpern, in Atlanta, Georgia. In 2002, he established his own practice, Laurence H. Margolis, PC, in Atlanta, and in 2007, he relocated his family and law practice to Ann Arbor, Michigan. Mr. Margolis is a member of the State Bar of Michigan, the Washtenaw County Bar Association, the Criminal Defense Attorneys of Michigan, and the State Bar of Georgia.
