Elisabeth M. Von Eitzen is a partner with the firm and practices in its Kalamazoo office. She focuses her practice in the areas of bankruptcy, creditors' rights, and commercial and real estate litigation. Ms. Von Eitzen regularly represents financial institutions in loan restructurings, loan enforcement through litigation, foreclosure proceedings, postjudgment collection efforts, and bankruptcy matters. She also represents trustees in commercial and consumer bankruptcy proceedings under Chapter 7. Her real estate litigation experience includes judicial foreclosure actions, litigating cases involving fraudulent transfers, landlord-tenant matters, and receiverships (including representing receivers and assisting creditors in obtaining the appointment of receivers). Ms. Von Eitzen was named a Michigan Super Lawyer Rising Star from 2013 to 2022. She is the current co-seminar chair and former president of the steering committee for the Bankruptcy Section of the Federal Bar Association for the Western District of Michigan and previously served as the president for the Kalamazoo County Bar Association board of directors. Ms. Von Eitzen is also a member and former board chair of the Turnaround Management Association--West Michigan.
