Elisa Lintemuth focuses her practice on employment counseling and litigation, commercial litigation, and Employee Retirement Income Security Act litigation. She is experienced in successfully resolving disputes in both state and federal courts and regularly advises and trains employers regarding their obligations under state and federal employment laws. In addition, Ms. Lintemuth assists employers by drafting employment policies and handbooks and by negotiating employment and severance agreements. She regularly responds to charges filed by employees with the Michigan Department of Civil Rights and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and defends employers in employment discrimination litigation. Ms. Lintemuth also counsels employers regarding prelitigation investigations, strategy, and negotiation. She is a member of the State Bar of Michigan as well as the Federal Bar Association and the Grand Rapids Bar Association. Ms. Lintemuth has been recognized as a Rising Star for business and employment litigation by Michigan Super Lawyers each year since 2014. She is a contributing editor of "Developing Labor Law" (Bloomberg BNA) and a chapter editor for the American Bar Association's Fair Labor Standards Act treatise (Bloomberg BNA) and contributes to the firm's Labor and Employment Law blog.
