Nicole Ashley Hughes

Nicole Ashley Hughes is an associate attorney at the firm, focusing on family law. She appears in courts throughout the state advocating for clients in divorce, child custody, and paternity matters. She has presented on numerous topics, including preparing for oral argument at the Michigan Supreme Court’s Learning Center. Ms. Hughes is active in the Ingham County Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Section, and she has served as a mentor for law students. She has also participated in Ask-A-Lawyer, which provides legal assistance to low-income community members, and volunteers to help those struggling with Alzheimer’s disease. Before joining Alane & Chartier, Ms. Hughes worked as a judicial law clerk for Hon. John G. McBain of the Jackson County Circuit Court and for the Innocence Project, where she worked on a case that resulted in the exoneration of an innocent man.
