Opolla Brown

Appointed as assistant Wayne County prosecutor in 2004, Opolla Brown is assigned to the General Trials Division and is responsible for a courtroom docket that includes many major felony cases. A graduate of Wayne State University Law School, she worked as a research attorney for Judge Timothy M. Kenny for five years, writing hundreds of opinions discussing issues dealing with confessions, search and seizure, arrest, evidence, and other pretrial motion issues. Ms. Brown is a member of the State Bar of Michigan, serving as secretary of the Criminal Law Section. She is a member of the Committee on Model Criminal Jury Instructions. She is also a member of the board of directors for the Wayne County Criminal Advocacy Program, which conducts continuing legal education for Wayne County criminal lawyers.
